NETWORK

  REQUIREMENTS

Navigation:

1. Network requirements

               1.1. Internet speed

RECOMMENDED:

  • Upload 5mb/s

MINIMUM:

  • Upload 2mb/s

Streams quality will be lower, than compared to stream with 5mb/s upload speed.

  • Anything less than 2mb/s

It might result in unstable stream – low quality, artifacting, stream loss.

 1.2. Private network

”Genius Live” Wi-Fi has to remain a private network. No one else should have access to this network, only the phones you’ve received from us. “Genius Live” Wi-Fi should remain dedicated only to the phones.

IMPORTANT: Genius live Wi-Fi shouldn’t be used by anyone else - visitors, fans or administration.

NOTE: If internet is still slow even after taking all these measures, it would be recommended to dedicate internet modem to the phones as well.

2. Network device set-up

               2.1. Network devices

1. Edge router

2. 4G Router

3. Unifi POE injector

4. Unifi access point

5. Ethernet cables

2.2. When venue DOES have internet

Connect the cables as described in the list bellow:

  • Connect venues internet modem to "Edge router" via ethernet cable. Use ETH0 port.
  • Connect "Edge router" to "Unifi POE" via ethernet cable. Connect ETH4 port to LAN port.
  • Connect "Unifi POE" to "Unifi access point". Connect PEO port to Main port.

2.3. When venue DOESN'T have internet

4G router will be used to provide internet for the phones during the stream. It will get internet via SIM card.

To prepare the router:

  1. Insert a SIM card as shown in the picture. The correct SIM card orientation is shown in the picture.
  2. Attach 4G and Wi-Fi antennas.
  3. Use Ethernet cable and plug it into LAN port.

Connect the cables as described in the list bellow:

  • Connect "4G router" to "Unifi POE" via ethernet cable. Connect LAN port to LAN port.
  • Connect "Unifi POE" to "Unifi access point". Connect PEO port to Main port.

3. Unifi access point placement

Physical obstacles, like walls or the stands, can interfere with Wi-Fi signal. The way Unifi access point is positioned will have effect on coverage area and Wi-Fi signal strength.

  • No view obstruction, clear line of sight from Unifi access point to all of the phones.
  • Put the Unifi access point in the middle of the space where network is. If the router isn't placed in the middle, then the signal won't be even.
  • Put Unifi access point on an elevated surface. The reception will be better on the desk rather than on the floor

Close distance to the phones.

  • RECOMMENDED distance - not further than 30m.
  • MAXIMUM distance - 60m.

Tips to have a good network  connection

  • If there are 2 phones, those 2 phones must be on the same network as well with 3 devices
  • Unifi access point should be in blue (this means the is connected and working properly).
  • Always close the other apps other than Lisa.
  • Locate the access point between the cell phones, ensuring that there is an equal distance.
  • Do not put other cell phones on the Wi-Fi network Use the genius live Wi-Fi, in case it does not work well and you are going to use another, please notify us to test.
